GVR No.4

Everyone's favourite! Formerly of Taupo Totara Timber Co. Ltd, an Alco (American Locomotive Co.) 2-4-4-2 Mallet compound articulated steam locomotive, operating on 3'6" gauge. The balloon stack contains spark arrestor mesh for safer operation in forested areas. This locomotive can operate on very light rail, pulling suprising loads very economically. Total weight is 47 tons, tractive effort 11,200 pounds.
